Kevin Lazan was born around 1980, in Florida. He was born to father David M. Lazan, who was a lawyer, and his mother, Judi Lazan, who worked as a real estate agent. Lazan is of the Jewish faith and is of American nationality. From a young age, Kevin was influenced by his father and had a passion for the law. For his education, Kevin joined the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1998. He graduated in 2002 with a bachelor’s degree in legal studies and journalism.

After completing his education, Lazan began working at Puck Agency LLC as a junior agent. After spending three years of her life at the agency, Kevin left to join Railway Meda LLC, where she held the position of operations manager. It was around the same time that Lazan began working as operations manager at CR Media, LLC, of which she was also a founding member. Kevin went back to school to complete his MBA at New York University’s Stern School of Business. He graduated with an MBA in Strategy and Finance. In January 2016, Kevin started his own counter service cafe and all-day restaurant called The Gables.

Kevin met Rachel Platten in 2006, New York, when Rachel was still an aspiring singer. According to the singer, her first date did not go exactly as planned. She was far from a normal one, as Kevin took her to a really gross and dirty bar. Kevin, however, instantly regretted this and was very apologetic. However, they had that instant connection with each other from the very beginning.

After being with Rachel for almost 6 years, Kevin proposed to her on a tree-lined carriage ride in New England. According to Platten, she didn’t want the same old wedding for herself and wanted it to be really special. She was looking for a glamorous country wedding. The couple said their vows in 2012 at Mount Hope Farm in Bristol, Rhode Island. It was a traditional Jewish ceremony and in the presence of his family and close friends. On February 1, 2019, Rachel gave birth to the couple’s first child, Violet Skye Lazan.
